Demystifying Denitrification

What is the solution for minimal water supply at a fish hatchery?
Dr. Dallas Weaver will be presenting his white paper Towards Zero Discharge: Denitrification and Refractory Organic Cleanup at the 11th International Conference on Recirculating Aquaculture in Roanoke, Virginia from August 19 to 21. Highlights of his presentation include:

  • Applications of dentrification systems in aquaculture and even scientific research
  • Flexibility of a system not constrained by availability, location, or governmental regulations of the water supply
  • Safer, more efficient and cost effective alternative to a recirculating system.

The white paper will be made available after the conference. Stay tuned on how to get your copy!

Dr. Dallas Weaver poses with the denitrification system he designed for a fish hatchery challenged by a minimal incoming water supply.
Putting a Face to a Name

Jimmy Williamson, assistant manager in the Filtration Division of Aquaneering for two and a half years, has played a major role in the building and testing of the denitrification system, including daily testing at the company headquarters for four weeks prior to the shipment and installation of the system.  Jimmy traveled to Mexico to ensure that the system was properly set up and running to specification.

Jimmy has over fourteen years of experience with fish aquariums, filtration systems, aquatic husbandry, and aquaculture, and earned a BS in Biology from the University of Idaho.
